We set up a single Canon 5D Mark II, and didn’t move it. Throughout the course of the day, we shot the build and breaking down of the the different sets and lighting setups, and when each setup was complete, we zoomed in and took a photograph of the scene.
I sped up and cut the video in order to keep a good flow going, and I used a bit of colour grading for the final scene.
Our aim in this project was initially to use light design to entirely transform the space, 5 times over, in order to create moments in the director of photography’s day. It was a grand idea, and we quickly realised that we wouldn’t pull it off with the time and resources that we had (1 day and £2500)... so we adjusted our aim to completely transform a studio space 5 times over, using lights, props, and set elements. In this, I think we came closer to our goal.
