I am currently living in Belfast and working as a Director of Photography on a broad range of projects including dramas, corporates and commercials.  I also work as a photographer specializing in Aerial Mast Photography.

I graduated from The University of Derby in 1996 with an Honours Degree in Photography and Film Studies.  Within a few weeks I managed to talk my way onto the set of a British feature film called The Revengers Comedies which was shooting in London.  I was mentored by a fantastic electrical department for six weeks and learned so much about creative lighting techniques and the filmmaking process in general . In 1997 I was offered an amazing three month camera trainee position on Saving Private Ryan.  My passion for film drama was confirmed at that point.  Over the next few years I became a clapper loader and then a focus puller working on feature films, commercials and music promos throughout the UK and Ireland.  During this time I also worked as a Director of Photography on many low budget short films and music promos both here in Northern Ireland and further afield. 

I decided to make the permanent jump to DOP in 2007 and the last few years has been an exciting time for me especially in the area of High Definition video technology.  The possibilities are amazing and I’m always open to new projects of any scale.
